Joint seminar of the laboratories of Nano-Bioengineering and Hybrid Photonic Nanomaterials, NRNU MEPhI

December 13, a seminar was held in the cluster of two MEPhI's international laboratories, the Laboratory of Nano-Bioengineering (LNBE) and the Laboratory of Hybrid Photonic Nanomaterials (LPNM).

Professor Yury P. Rakovich, leading scientist of LPNM, presented a summary report on the research results the laboratory have got during the year 2018 in the field of strong and weak light–matter coupling, as well as the prospects of designing a new type of cavities to more effectively influence the molecules put into them.

Dmitry S. Dovzhenko, Ph.D., reported on the latest achievements in designing cavities based on Bragg mirrors with an emitter and mathematical simulation of the weak and strong coupling effects, as well as approaches to two-photon excitation of quantum dot luminescence in the weak coupling regime.

Viktor A. Krivenkov, Ph.D., junior researcher at LPNM, made a statement on Luminescent Properties of Hybrid Structures of Semiconductor Nanocrystals and Plasmonic Nanoparticles in the Case of Two-photon Excitation.

The seminar ended by the discussion of work plans for 2019 and the planned publication activity of the laboratories in late 2018 and in 2019.
