Eight papers from the LNBE published in the Optics and Spectroscopy

The papers present the latest achievements of LNBE in a wide area of interdisciplinary research and developments, including theoretical issues of resonance energy transfer and other interactions of excitonic and plasmonic nanoparticles with biological and other organic molecules as components of next-generation hybrid nanomaterials, study of the optical properties of photonic crystals and their interaction with organic polymers, as well the use of hybrid nanostructures in sensing, bioimaging (in particular, for medical diagnosis), photovoltaics, and designing novel light-emitting diodes.

The authors presented the results of these studies at the PCNSPA Conference 2016 — Photonic Colloidal Nanostructures: Synthesis, Properties, and Applications in St. Petersburg, Russia, last summer (see our earlier news for more detail on the conference and the presentations).

The Optics and Spectroscopy is the English version, published since the 1990s, of the Russian journal Optika i spektroskopiya. The journal, founded in 1956, publishes research and review papers on both basic research in this field and the principles of designing optical instruments.
