With two more large-scale project competitions won, LNBE enters the list of top participants in the Federal Target Program "National System of Chemical and Biological Safety of Russia (2015–2020)" of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation

Two projects of LNBE, Development of an Instrument for Detecting Pathogenic Biological Agents in Human Biomaterial (a Biosensor Device) Based on Fluorescent Nanocrystals and Development of an Instrument for Indication and Identification of Pathogenic Biological Agents Based on Plasmon Resonance, have both won the project competitions of the Federal Target Program "National System of Chemical and Biological Safety of Russia (2015–2020)" of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation.

These three-year (2015–2018) research and development projects are aimed at designing next-generation, highly sensitive systems for early diagnosis and pathogen detection on the basis of LNBE's developments of recent years.

In addition, both applied projects to be launched are a continuation of the LNBE's research project on Development of the Theory and Methodology for Engineering of Multiparameter (Multiplexed) Test Systems Based on Immunochips for Detecting and Identifying Biological Pathogens, which won a project competition in the framework of the same Ministry of Health program in this November.

The instruments to be developed in the laboratory will be used by the network of the National Integration Center for Monitoring of Biological Hazards for detecting and identifying biological pathogens in the manual mode suitable for small flows of people (screening measures, crossing-point monitoring, quarantine measures, etc.).

The federal program provides for additional funding for the period 2018–2020 to set up the production of systems and devices developed in successful projects.
