LNBE staff members will make two oral presentations at the VIII International Conference of Young Scientists and Specialists "Optics-2013":

Hybrid Structures Based on Quantum Dots in a Polymeric Matrix: Luminescent and Photovoltaic Properties and Effect of High-Intensity Laser Radiation on the Spectral Characteristics of Semiconductor Quantum Dots. The latter is an invited presentation.

The international conference "Optics 2013" will be held in St. Petersburg, Russia, on October 14–18. It is expected to be mainly attended by young researchers and postgraduate students. LNBE will be represented by two papers.

The first one, Hybrid Structures Based on Quantum Dots in a Polymeric Matrix: Luminescent and Photovoltaic Properties, describes a study on the relationship between the photovoltaic and luminescent characteristics of a hybrid material consisting of polyimide and CdSe quantum dots. The study has been performed in collaboration with our colleagues from the Frumkin Institute of Physical Chemistry and Electrochemistry of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Moscow, Russia, and the Center of Materials Physics of the University of the Basque Country, San Sebastian, Spain.

The second paper, Effect of High-Intensity Laser Radiation on the Spectral Characteristics of Semiconductor Quantum Dots, which is included in the program as an invited presentation, represents a study on the photophysical characteristics of colloidal solutions of CdSe/ZnS nanoparticles exposed to powerful impulse laser radiation in the UV spectral range.
