The Memorandum of Understanding between the University of Nantes, France, and National Research Nuclear University MEPhI, Russia, has been signed, with the Russian university represented by the Laboratory of Nano-Bioengineering and its basic academic department, Department of the Physics of Micro- and Nanosystems.

The agreement between the two universities concerns collaboration in both research and education, primarily in the fields of life sciences and the physics of nano-biosystems. The collaboration will involve exchange of graduate and postgraduate students and researchers between the universities and unlimited access to tutorials and academic courses given in the collaborating institutions. Lectures by the leading academics of the National Research Nuclear University and University of Nantes, as well as joint colloquia and symposia, are planned. The priorities of the collaboration between the French and Russian universities will include nano-biotechnology, nanomedicine, biophysics, biochemistry, and biomedical diagnostics. Therefore, it is logical that the Nanomedicine Group of LNBE is planned to be the key unit in the future collaboration. The group is headed by Alyona Sukhanova, MD, PhD, the leader of the Nanomedicine Group, a specialist in medical biochemistry.
