The Rossiiskie Nanotekhnologii [Nanotechnologies in Russia] has accepted for publication the paper "Current Trends in Colloidal Synthesis of Luminescent Semiconductor Nanocrystals."

The Rossiiskie Nanotekhnologii [Nanotechnologies in Russia] will publish a new paper by Pavel Samokhvalov and Mikhail Artemyev of the Nanochemistry Group and Igor Nabiev, the leading scientist.

The authors review the existing methods for colloidal synthesis of high-quality core/shell semiconductor nanocrystals (quantum dots) consisting of compounds of group II and group VI elements (CdSe, CdS, and ZnS). The advantages and disadvantages of the existing techniques are discussed, and new strategies used in this field are described. These are, e.g., the synthesis of nanocrystals with multicomponent cores and coating of nanocrystals with gradient epitaxial shells.

The Rossiiskie Nanotekhnologii is a leading Russian interdisciplinary journal publishing the results of basic and applied research in nanoscience.
